Hello, my name is Rory Valentine Diller. I work with all kinds of people; everyday folks needing support, trauma survivors, domestic violence, child abuse, and narcissistic abuse survivors, male-identified survivors of sexual trauma, addicts in recovery, LGBTQ folks, youth and adults dealing with suicidal thoughts and self-injurious behaviors, and Veterans & their families. I specialize in Trauma, PTSD, Complex Trauma, Depression, & Anxiety. I am a survivor myself and "get" a lot of what my clients are working through.
My training is rooted in Neuroscience, Psychobiology, and the use of Creativity in psychotherapy. My Holistic approach is Person-centered and I believe in empowering each person's innate capacity to heal.

Qualifications
I earned my Masters degree in Holistic Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University with specializations in Somatic and Expressive Arts therapies. I am licensed in the state of California as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #115695). I have a decade of experience working as an advocate, counselor, teacher, and community programmer with youth in crisis, LGBTQ youth and youth survivors of violence, abuse, and trauma. As a crisis clinician and clinical art therapist, I have worked in various medical settings with long term hospital patients, folks in substance use recovery, and youth in psychiatric emergency. I worked for various psychiatric facilities in the East Bay providing Equine Assisted Therapy (therapy horses) to residential clients, Veterans, First Responders, and Trauma survivors. I am a member of the East Bay Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), and continue to develop my clinical skills through attending regular trainings, workshops, and consultation groups with local colleagues.
